Connect TripWaffle to the assistant you already use. Ask about your trips, check your flights and add bookings by chatting.

Connect Claude or ChatGPT

Your assistant can read your trips, answer questions about them and add bookings when you ask. You don't need a token for this.

On a desktop computer, press this button, then press Connect.

ChatGPT Plus plan or higher
  1. 1 On chatgpt.com, go to Settings > Security and login and switch on Developer mode.
  2. 2 Open Plugins, press + and create an app. Name it TripWaffle, enter https://tripwaffle.com/mcp as the server URL, then press Create.
  3. 3 A TripWaffle page opens. Press Connect on it.
  4. 4 In a new chat, press +, choose Developer mode and select TripWaffle.

Works on the web only, not in the ChatGPT phone app. ChatGPT shows a warning for every app added this way. Accept it to continue.

Try asking

  • “What time do I land in Tokyo, and what is the hotel address?”
  • “Add dinner at Circolo Popolare on Friday at 8pm.”
  • “Which of my connections next month is the tightest?”

What your assistant can do

Once connected, your assistant can:

  • Read your trips and the full itinerary of each one: flights, stays, transport and activities, with times, addresses and booking references.
  • Check live status for a flight on your trips: delays, gates, terminals and baggage claim.
  • Read the files attached to your trips, such as tickets and booking PDFs.
  • Tell you your travel stats for a year or all time.

If you allow it when you connect, it can also:

  • Add a booking from a pasted confirmation or an attached PDF or image. TripWaffle files it on the right trip, the same as a forwarded email.
  • Fix an event's title, notes, booking reference, seat or cost, or move it to another trip.
  • Delete an event, after asking you first.
  • Rename a trip.
  • Add, edit and remove place ideas on a trip's shortlist, with notes.

What it can't do

  • It only sees your own trips and trips other people have shared with you.
  • It can't open your Travel Docs.
  • It can't change an event's time, place or type. Paste the corrected booking instead and TripWaffle updates the event.
  • It can't look up flights that aren't on your trips.

Your data

  • When your assistant asks for trip data, TripWaffle sends it to that assistant's provider, Anthropic for Claude or OpenAI for ChatGPT.
  • We log each request: the time, the action and whether it worked, but not the data sent back. The log is kept for 90 days.
  • To disconnect, go to Settings, MCP/API Access and revoke the connection. Access stops straight away.

If something doesn't work

  • ChatGPT on your phone. A TripWaffle app added in Developer mode only works on chatgpt.com, not in the ChatGPT phone app.
  • The TripWaffle page asks you to sign in. Sign in, then come back to that page. It carries on by itself.
  • Your assistant says it can't reach TripWaffle. Start a new chat and check TripWaffle is switched on for that chat.
  • Limits. Each account can make 1,000 requests a day. The count resets at midnight UTC.
